The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released guidelines for male and female candidates under NEET dress code 2023. All medical aspirants must ensure that they go through these guidelines thoroughly and follow them on the exam day of NEET.
Like other NEET 2023 rules and regulations, the dress code is also an essential guideline and must be followed by each candidate to avoid risking his/her candidature. NEET Dress Code 2023 for Male Candidates
- As per the NEET dress code 2023, male candidates are only allowed to wear half sleeve shirts/t-shirts inside the examination center of NEET, full sleeves are strictly prohibited.
- Clothes worn by male candidates should be light i.e. zip pockets, pockets, big buttons, and clothes with elaborate embroidery should not be there.
- Trousers and simple pants are a preferred NEET dress code 2023 for male candidates. Kurta pajamas are not allowed.
- Shoes are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. It is advisable that candidates wear sandals and chappals with a thin soles.
NEET 2023 Dress Code for Female CandidatesÂ
- Female candidates appearing for NEET 2023 must avoid wearing any kind of jewelry like earrings, nose rings, rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, or anklets. The metal detectors might cause unnecessary hassle in such situations.
- Clothes with elaborate embroidery, brooches, flowers, or big buttons are not permitted within the examination center as per the dress code of NEET.
- Female candidates are advised not to wear clothes that have elaborate embroidery, flowers, brooches, or buttons as this is prohibited in the NEET dress code for females 2023 specified by NTA.
- Female candidates are not allowed to wear full arm-length sleeves on the day of examination. According to the dress code of NEET 2023, they should wear half sleeve clothes.
- Jeans with big pockets and fashionable clothing will generally not be allowed for females as per the NTA NEET dress code. So, female aspirants are advised to avoid wearing jeans on NEET 2023 exam day.
- Candidates are not allowed to wear leggings in NEET 2023.
- Palazzo is not allowed in NEET 2023 as per the dress code for female candidates.
- It is best to avoid high heels and thick sole shoes and instead opt for sandals or slippers. Low heel footwear is also allowed.
NEET Dress Code - Customary Dress
Those candidates who follow a certain religion that prescribes a particular customary dress are allowed to appear for NEET 2023 in their customary dress. As per the Delhi High Court order, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry traditional kangha, Kara, Kirpan with them. Female Muslim candidates are also permitted to wear their customary burkha.Â

Also, such candidates must report to the examination center one hour prior to the allotted time to ensure that the security check is conducted smoothly. Paper, pen/pencil, calculator, scales, erasers, and log tables are all restricted from carrying inside the exam center of NEET.
Electronics:Â
Pen drives, mobile phones, earphones, watches, Bluetooth devices, and microphones are not allowed inside the examination hall of NEET 2023.Â

Wallets, goggles, belts, caps, accessories, cameras, and ornaments, are not permitted to be carried inside the exam hall.
